This incredible C 1865 - 1870 tintype is by the prominent Photographer of Nashua,New Hampshire J.C. Batchelder . He would often use reddish tinted cheeks to bring his subjects to life. This amazing tintype shows a prominent young boy and girl in a poses studio photograph. Both appear well dressed and the young girl even seems to have pierced ears? The young lad looks spiffy in his suit and pocket watch chain. What is unique and unusual about Batchelders photos was that he put his price schedule on the back of the photograph. “ As cheap as the cheapest “ The tintype measures approximately 2 3/8 x 3 7/8 inches and does show a very crisp clear image. Minor flaws include some slight bubbles? at the lower left bottom, sl scuffs as well as a sl creases or bend? lower right area.
