1919 JOHANN HORNSTEINER 4-STRING VIOLIN W/ BOW & CASE.  Here is a beautiful dated 1919 Johan hornsteiner violin, Passau (Bayern) Anno 1919, and the paper label inside the violin has the name Johann Hornsteiner as well as the coat of arms for Johann Hornsteiner above his name. Please review photos. The turn of the twentieth Century vintage violin is in its original case which is rather beat up but has protected the instrument well. The violin is a four-string, and will need restringing, as the strings have come undone. Overall the instrument reflects age, use, dust, and handling. The bow which appears to have some tape on the side, will need a restringing, as the horsehair has degraded over time.
